- Gurney Manor Mill is a Watermill of 15th Century origins with attached barns and farm buildings . It has been sympathetically restored by its owners Bill and Pauline Sutton into delightful Bed and Breakfast Accommodation , retaining many of its original features , including the Waterwheel and mill machinery .We have been given a Silver Award by the English Tourist Board.
The Mill lies adjacent to and was part of the historic, listed Grade1, 13th Century Gurney Manor, refurbished and owned by Landmark Trust. We are located in over one acre of grounds, with its own stream and waterfall looking out over water meadows, and yet only a 5 minute walk away from the picturesque village of Cannington. The village of Cannington lies between the Quantock Hills and the sea, some 3 miles from Bridgwater. To the West lies Exmoor and the North Devon coast, and to the East are the Somerset Levels, Glastonbury and Wells. The village has five Pubs , four of which have restaurants, there is a Cafe, a Post Office , a Hairdressers and shops. The village has a nine hole Golf Course ,Pitch and Putt and all weather Floodlit Driving Range. The village has a walled Heritage Garden with unusual plants and tea room , and is an ideal starting place for walking the River Parrett Trail .
The accommodation consists of 4 en-suite bedrooms , 2 family rooms , a twin room , and1 double room , all uniquely designed with vaulted beamed ceilings , rustic walls and plank floors . The quality en-suite bathrooms are of modern design with bold colour schemes and tiled floors . The floors are warm to touch having individually controlled under floor heating , so you can set the temperature to suit yourselves . All the rooms have a remote controlled Digital LCD colour TVs , a trouser press , along with tea and coffee making facilities . In addition, the rooms have Wireless connections to broadband, so you can surf the internet from your room.
